Staging Location: The cul-de-sac between the Walk of Heroes and the Memorial Shelter at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery located off TX 195 just south of Killeen, TX (http://tinyurl.com/CenTexVetsCeme)
Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession from Bryan, TX.
WX: Mostly sunny, with a high near 97. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Notes:
1. Southeast Texas PGR is conducting the first part of this mission in Bryan, Texas. For those of you who would like to attend their portion and participate in the procession, the information is pasted below.
2. Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.

Mission details: 2 part mission:
Part 1: SETexas flag line at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church; the line will set at 9:20. We are not sure of how large a LE presence there will be, but as with all other LE missions, we will coordinate with them. Semper Gumby!
Part 2: Centex PGR flag line at Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen; gate time 3:00pm.
Obituary: Omar Cantu was born Sept. 1, 1960, in McAllen, TX. He joined the US Army in 1979 and began his 30+ year career in law enforcement career serving with the 410th MP Co at Ft. Hood until 1982. He worked with the Bryan PD from 1982 to 1994, then joined the TABC, retiring in 2012. After retirement, Omar worked with the Madison and Leon Co. SOs. An active rider, Omar was involved in a number of local organizations and events, and he and his wife Isabel are supportive members of the PGR.
Omar is survived by his wife Isabel, his son Omar Jr., his daughter Veronica Christine Brown (Wes Brown), grandson Mason Wesley Brown, a host of relatives, friends, and a grateful community which appreciates his lifelong dedication to service.

For those riders who wish to accompany Mr. Cantu to the Central Texas Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, be sure to carry water with you to hydrate along the way there and back.
