SFC David "Dave" Jon Schiefelbein, 72, US Air Force/Coast Guard & Army, Retired, Vietnam Veteran, Belton, TX
The family of Sergeant First Class Dave Schiefelbein has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Funeral Service and Interment of their Loved One.
There was never any doubt by his stance and walk that Dave was a military man, proud to have served his country. In 1961, with his mother’s permission, he joined the US Air Force in El Paso to see the world and in a cruel twist of fate was assigned to Fort Bliss, El Paso. Seeking adventure, he joined the Coast Guard in 1965, serving in Search and Rescue until 1969 in New Orleans, Corpus Christi and Annette, Alaska. Then, he enlisted in the US Army in 1971. He served in Vietnam, Corpus Christi, El Paso, Germany and Ft Belvoir, VA. After retirement, he was the service area coordinator in Lampasas with Central Texas College.
