GMSN Joel Lynn Coffman, 84, US Navy, Korean Conflict Veteran, OF Georgetown, TX
The family of Gunner's Mate Striker* Seaman Joel Coffman has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.
In April 1951, Joel enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Hazelwood and was honorably discharged in March of 1955. He worked for USAA in Insurance Claims for over 28 years until his retirement in 1992. Joel was a member of the American Legion Post 174, a member of the Radio Control Modelers with the sailboats in Sun City, Texas, and he was an active leader in the Trinity Baptist Church of San Antonio, Texas. Joel enjoyed playing golf, taking cruises and traveling all over the world. Yet, he enjoyed spending time with his family most of all. He was a member of The Worship Place in Sun City, Texas. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
