PO1 Pedro Rocha, 96, US Navy, WWII Veteran, OF Temple, TX
The family of Petty Officer First Class Pedro Rocha has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.
Pete joined the U.S. Navy and served his country in World War II as a Petty Officer First Class in the Asiatic-Pacific war theater. In his service he experienced combat action in the Leyte Gulf, Philippines and Okinawa campaigns of the war. He was honorably discharged in 1945 after war victory, when he then worked as a civil service supply clerk with the federal government at U.S. Naval Station Corpus Christi until he retired in the mid 1980s. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
WX: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 7am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 58. North northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
