CenTex Addendum to Austin Honor Mission

The family of Senior Airman Pete Martinez has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One. For any members interested in attending the Austin portion of this mission, see their information posted at the bottom.
In July of 1981 Pete enlisted in the United States Air Force as an Administrative Specialist. He was promoted to Senior Airman, nominated for Airman of the Quarter for the data systems planning division and served honorably until May of 1985. His Lieutenant Colonel is quoted as saying “Martinez is a doer – he does it all and does it well.†During his service he was awarded the Air Force Training Ribbon and Air Force Good Conduct Medal. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
WX: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 82. South southeast wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Notes:
1. Be at staging ON TIME.
2. Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.

Confirmed mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral and interment services for Mr. Pete A. Martinez. Mr. Martinez served in the USAF from July 1981 to March 1985. He left the service as a Senior Airman.
Date/Time: Tuesday, 30 April 2019. Funeral service at 10 am.
Location: Beck Funeral Home, 1700 E. Whitestone Blvd. Cedar Park, TX 78613. We will stage at the funeral home.

Notes: Bring water for yourself and a friend. Be advised that a visitation will take place prior to the funeral service. Family and friends will be arriving during our staging period.
We will form a flag line prior to the start of the funeral service. There will then be a 2.5 hour down time until we join the 12:45 pm departure of the law enforcement escorted procession up to CTSVC in Killeen where a second flag line will be in place for the interment service. Upon arrival at the cemetery we will fall under the direction of the Centex PGR ride captain.
