LTC Jerry Fitzgerald, 79, US Army, Retired, Vietnam Veteran, Silver and Bronze Star Recipient, OF Kempner, TX
The family of Lieutenant Colonel Jerry Fitzgerald has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Funeral and Committal Services of their Loved One.
Jerry was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving two tours (199th LIB from 66-67 and 1-8 Cav from 69-70) in Vietnam as a Commanding Officer, and an Advisor for an ARVN Ranger Company. Jerry heroically commanded Pig Iron from 1969 to 1970. He also had tours in West Germany and Korea. Jerry is a recipient of the Silver Star and Multiple Bronze Stars and served over twenty years in the Army before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1986. Flagline Establishment: 1125 +/- Once the Funeral Service begins; we will strike the flagline and prepare to participate in the procession. All non-riders will report to the cemetery and await the procession.
Staging Location: The cul-de-sac between the Walk of Heroes and the Memorial Shelter at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 SH 195, Killeen, TX 76542 (http://tinyurl.com/CenTexVetsCeme)
Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
