AO2 Steven Walker, 76, US Navy, Vietnam Veteran, Bronze Star/Purple Heart Recipient, OF Temple, TX
The family of Aviation Ordnanceman Second Class Steven Walker has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Funeral and Committal Services of their Loved One.
Steven signed up to serve his country in the US Navy in January of 1965 as an aviation ordinance man and combat air crewman. He served three years, three months, eleven days in Vietnam, and was injured during a skirmish at the Naval Base in Da Nang during a mortar attack. Though he sent paperwork to the Veterans Administration for a Purple Heart, it took forty five years to recieve both his Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and went on the Honor Flight in November of 2021. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
