TSgt Donald Nichols, 84, US Army/Air Force, Retired, OF Georgetown, TX
The family of Tech Sergeant Donald Nichols has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.
Donald joined the US Army on February 1, 1957 and was stationed with Headquarters, US Army Security Agency (the precursor to the National Security Agency) at Fort Kobbe, Panama Canal Zone until he was discharged on January 22, 1960. Donald earned an Army Good Conduct Medal while in the Army.
Donald joined the US Air Force on September 28, 1962. During his service in the US Air Force, Donald served as a career non-commissioned officer and a ground radio communications technician. Donald served at nine different stations during his career in the Air Force and received several medals during his career, including the Air Force Missile Maintenance Badge while supporting a Strategic Air Command Minuteman III strategic missile wing, and retired in June of 1980. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
WX: Mostly sunny, with a high near 81. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
