SGM Romane Atkinson, 93, US Navy/Army, Retired, Korea/Vietnam Veteran, of Liberty Hills, TX
The family of Sergeant Major Romane Atkinson has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.
Romane began his service in the US Navy as a Seabee at the beginning of the Korean War. Seven years later, he joined the US Army serving several overseas and stateside locations to include Guam, Japan, Korea, Okinawa, Alabama, Alaska, California, Georgia, Hawaii and Kansas. His first two of three tours in Vietnam were with CV-2B Caribou Aircraft units, the 1st Aviation Company and the 335th Aviation Company working with Special Forces and other units. His last tour in Vietnam was with "A" Company, 101st Infantry Battalion. At the end of the first tour, he returned with a number of CV-2B Caribou aircrafts through India, Pakistan, Iran, Greece, Spain, the Azores, Newfoundland to the US. SGM Atkinson earned a number of awards and medals to include: Korean Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/Palm, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Medal 2d Oak Leaf Cluster, Good Conduct (USN), Air Assault Badge. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.

2. Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
