SSG Richard John Imholte, 83, US Army, Retired, Vietnam Veteran, (2x) Bronze Star/(2x) Purple Heart Recipient, of Copperas Cove, TX
The family of Staff Sergeant Richard Imholte has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.
Richard joined the Army in 1958 and our beloved veteran served and traveled the world for twenty years. From 1958-1978, Dick served as a proud Soldier and was a basic training Drill Sergeant from 1966-1968 at Fort Campbell, KY preparing Soldiers for combat in the Vietnam War. In 1968, Dick was deployed to Vietnam as a Tank Platoon Leader earning two bronze stars and two Purple Hearts for his actions. He retired from the Army after twenty years at Fort Hood, TX in 1976. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
