SFC Merle Lapointe, 87, US Army, Retired, Vietnam Veteran, Bronze Star Recipient, of Belton, TX
The family of Sergeant First Class Merle Lapointe has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.
Merle served his country with honor and dedication for twenty years before retiring from the United States Army in 1974. Throughout his military career, Merle demonstrated exemplary service and received numerous decorations including the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Drivers Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Sharp Shooter Medal. His unwavering commitment to his duties inspired those around him and left an indelible mark on those who served alongside him. He was also a member of Temple VFW 1820. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
