HONOR MISSION
Cpt David Stuart Hunsicker, 85, US Navy, Retired, Vietnam Veteran, of Temple, TX

The family of Captain David Stuart Hunsicker has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.

David enlisted in the United States Navy in 1960 where he made a career as a navy chaplain. David was a proud combat veteran of the Vietnam War. Even though he was a naval chaplain, he served most of his time from 1965 – 1966 in Vietnam. In Da Nang, on the east coast of the country at the mouth of the Han River, Dave was attached to a Marine Corp combat unit. While in Vietnam he earned the Meritorious Service Medal with one gold star, Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Achievement Medal with a combat V, Vietnam Service Medal with four bronze stars, National Defense Medal and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry among many other medals, citations and decorations. From 1968 - 1970 David was aboard the USS White Plains as the ship chaplain.
After retiring from the Navy in 1982, he continued to serve his country as a member of Disabled American Veterans Association and AmVets. He was also a co-founder of Founder of the Navy Family Service Center.

We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.
