CenTex Addendum to Austin Honor Mission
CPT Michael "Mike" Hutton, 81, US Army, Vietnam Veteran, Bronze Star Recipient, Lakeway, TX
The family of Captain Michael Hutton has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One. Michael was attending the University of Texas when he was drafted at the height of the Vietnam War. He was stationed at Fort Hood, graduating as a Second Lieutenant from Officer Candidate School. Michael was platoon leader in A Company, 1st Battalion 46th Infantry, 198th “Brave and Bold” Brigade and achieved the rank of Captain during deployment, and earned the National Defense Service Medal, Viet Nam Service Medal, Viet Nam Campaign Medal w/60 device, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Two Overseas Service Bars, and the Bronze Star Medal. Upon return, he was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia, where he completed his tour of duty, and served twelve years in the Army Reserve. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
